An unexpected meal.

I had a late and lazy start to the college day today, so I put a bit more effort into my outfit. After college, I got picked up by my mum and brother, and we met up with my stepdad at a pub near us for dinner, rather unexpectedly. I've been to the pub before, and I found it super disappointing the last time... but this time I was pleasantly surprised! The food was great this time. I think I might just give the place a second chance. Anyway, I'm glad I wasn't wearing my usual jumper/jeans combination, because that would have looked quite silly out to dinner, since it was a very swanky pub. This is what I wore instead:

Dress = H&M
Wool/faux-fur gillet/vest = vintage
Boots = boutique store
Watch = Chopard

Lips = Collection 2000 - "Ruby Red"

Earring = DIY

Nails = Collection 2000 - "Fire Engine"

I had a really lovely meal out, and definitely needed a night out with my family amidst all this UCAS stress in my life right now. Thankfully, the deadline's this Friday, so I'll be able to breathe a sigh of relief and just relax this weekend! I'm also going to a party on Saturday night, so look forward to an outfit-of-the-night post from me then!

College is draining me.

I haven't really had time for much else apart from my UCAS application at the minute, with a bunch of coursework thrown in, and it's got me super stressed lately; I haven't really had the time or inclination to dress myself in anything more than basic skinny jeans and jumpers... much less blog about it. But since I'm trying to take this blogging thing seriously, I figured I might as well. So this is what I wore yesterday to college:

Jumper, bag = vintage
Shirt = vintage with DIY studded collar
Jeans = Primark
Boots = one of those little nondescript boutique stores
Watch = Nike
Rings = eBay + Matalan

College is draining me.

I can't seem to dress myself for the night without looking over the top.

I've just got home from a meal out with the family- if you're ever in the mood for an Indian, and you just happen to be in Southampton, Coriander Lounge in the heart of town is the place to go. The food's as authentic as we've been able to find in Southampton (with only one exception) and it's always really yum. 

Anyway, as my title suggests, dressing myself for dinner out was a challenge- I can't do semi-casual very well. After trying on three different outfits, I finally settled on the third. Mostly due to the fact that we were running late and needed to leave when I got the third one on. Here it is:

Denim dress = originally belonged to my best friend, but she's recently given it to me since I'm the only one that wears it anyway!
Knitted vest = Matalan
Watch = Nike
Ankle boots (that you can't even see), coat = vintage
Earring = DIY
On my lips = Collection 2000's "Volume Sensation" line, shade #3/Ruby Red (possibly my favourite ever shade of red!)

It was a really good evening, and now I'm off to play "Buzz" with my family (which I find such a chore, and still ended up winning the last two times we played!) and eat homemade apple & pear crumble. God, the calories.

Hope you're having a wonderful Bonfire Night. I'm afraid of fireworks, so I'm glad we didn't go watch them anywhere, or worse, do our own little fireworks display, but let me know if you did!

So I'm thinking that with the light essentially non-existent when I get home from college/town/out, it's highly unlikely I'll be able to take proper photographs. And in all honesty, I like the convenience my webcam offers me. So I'll stick with the webcam photographs for a while, perhaps with the odd proper photograph thrown into the mix. I hope you don't mind.

Right, anyway, so: here's what I wore today.

I don't remember where the belt is from, sorry! It's ages old... from India, I think.

 

It's getting pretty cold here now, and layering seems like an absolute must. Although, the college buildings all had the heating up on full blast, and there I was in my three layers, black skinnies, several pairs of socks and boots, roasting. Not to mention my humongous shawl thing, and my coat. Welp.

Since I have an early finish on Fridays, I went into town with a couple of my friends to get lunch and wander aimlessly around shops. Have I mentioned how much I adore Subway subs? No? Well. I do. Mmm. Lots. They're so good!

Also, my tragus piercing has been absolutely awful lately, so I went and got that checked out where I had it pierced... the piercing artist behind the counter said it was a "keloid" and that it was "angry". I can't do anything to it, including remove the ring, until the keloid's healed. Booooo. Unimpressed.

Anyway, I got home and did cuddles with the pupsicle, which alludes to the title of this post- I smell of her right now. It's strangely comforting. 

We took photographs. She's the prettiest thing ever, even when she's raggedy and needs a bath.

Now that the first week back at college after half term is over, I'm absolutely exhausted. My plans for the weekend consist of sleeping, working out (hopefully, but unlikely), eating relatively healthy (she says with chocolate stashed away in her bedside drawer...!) and finishing up my UCAS application.

But it was too dark when I got home from college to take proper photographs anyway, and also it was super rainy. But this is what I wore today, and I must admit: I am in love with this outfit!

Tights = Marks & Spencer's

Admittedly, I should have probably worn not-suede boots with this, but I only bought them yesterday, and they're too gorgeous to resist! They got a bit soaked in the rain on my way home, but I was wearing tights and two pairs of socks under them, so my feet stayed relatively warm and dry, surprisingly enough!
